Auld Lang Syne
Happy New Year & All That Jazz.
I don't make resolutions. I choose something to improve. That way, I don't get caught up in failure. If I were to choose to go on a diet and then eat a piece of the cheese cake that is sitting in my fridge - boom - I failed at my resolution.
So several years ago I decided to pick some trait that I didn't like about myself and resolved to do BETTER. One year I chose to not gossip as much. Another year I chose to try to let what others say flow off of me like water on a duck's back. Each year I choose something that will make me happier or help chase away negativity. I have been doing this for several years and now I am "Perfect." (Hint - My thought bubble would be laughing right now.)
This year I have decided to communicate more. Sometimes I get in moods where I don't want to talk to other people. The problem being that other people want to talk to me. (Probably, because I am so likable and lovable.) I will try to respond to calls or emails quicker. I will probably still get in those moods where I don't want to talk to people, but I do have a solution to those that want to make sure that I haven't fallen off of the face of the earth. Come here to the blog and check on me. My goal is to blog more. I want to try to blog at least every other day. I have really enjoyed working on this and want to make it as interesting as possible to anyone who reads this. I plan to change the header photos more often. I was thinking once a month or every two weeks. We shall see. It may just get changed whenever I get sick of looking at it. I have some new ideas to add as regular posts and my hope is to get some interaction going using the comment boxes.
I also have decided to be more frank about things that bother me or how I feel. (Hey rude lady in the grocery store on Sunday - this means you.) Sometimes I censor stuff that I want to say (in life and on the blog) and I plan to stop that. If I get on a soap box and have a different opinion than you do, on say: the war or marriage equality, please read it, give a civil comment and come back to read something new later. We all don't have to agree on everything. Life would be boring if we did. I also know that I am not always right, but I will post how I feel - right or wrong.
This is my 50Th post since I started on October 15, 07 and I hope you have enjoyed coming here. Keep coming back and please comment - comment - comment. At least click on the comment box when you see that there is some because sometimes I respond there with more info about the subject when I get a comment.
(Special Thanks to "zendenizen" for all of your comments. Go check out her blog (Debonair Debacles) by clicking on the link to the right in "Mav's Hot Spots")
