Blog Challenge Day 16 — A Song That Makes You Cry (Or Nearly)

Blue Moon With Heartache
By: Rosanne Cash
.
(Yes, I know her father Johnny Cash
had nothing to do with this song
but it is such a great picture I had to use it.)

[The part of the song where it gets to me is the start of the chorus,
"What would I give, to be a diamond in your eyes again."]
.
.
Blue Moon out my window, guess this means goodnight
then you come in and start right in, not treating me right
well misery's a ball, and all its company
I'll play the victim for you honey, but not for free

I run into that heartache just like a wall
and act like nothing has happened to me, nothing at all
lately I'm amazed, at how blind we can be
lately even dreaming feels like old reality

what would I give, to be a diamond in your eyes again
what would I give, to bring back those old times
what did I say, to make your cold heart beat this way
maybe I'll just go away to stay

maybe I'll just go away
maybe I'll just go away

and i don't care who's waiting, at my front door
you know that life don't hold no glamour anymore
how can it all look so right, but feel so wrong
i'll play the victim for you honey, but not for long

what would I give, to be a diamond in your eyes again
what would I give, to bring back those old times
what did I say, to make your past turn up this way
maybe I'll just go away today

maybe I'll just go away
maybe I'll just go away
maybe I'll just go away to stay...

Blog Challenge Day 4: Favorite Book

.
Not necessary my all time favorite but what I am reading currently. It is however my favorite
author, Roddy Doyle. Favorite story by Roddy Doyle is "The Snapper" He always makes me laugh out loud with great ease. To make the book even more special was the fact that I didn't know Roddy had written a new one and I found found it at the Dollar Tree for one dollar (Well Duh on the last bit of information.)

Blog Challenge Day 3: Favorite Celebrity

I could go with the standard gay icons and say
Madonna, Cyndi Lauper or Kathy Griffin
but I will go with someone
that I am currently enamored with.

.
.
Kelly Rowland
.
She is the member from Destiny's Child that can actually SING.
.
She sang one of my favorite songs from last year:
"When love takes over"
and so far this year she has released
or leaks several tracks
that have been in high rotation on my iPod.
.
"Commander",
"Rose Colored Glasses",
"How Deep Is Your Love" with Michael Buble
and most recently
"Forever and a Day"
.
Her new CD has been delayed once again until after the first of the year, but it is the most anticipated by me. I can't wait to find out how many more little gems will make the public finally take notice of this extraordinary talent.

Blog Challenge Day 2: Favorite Movie

French Film from 1995: "The City Of Lost Children"
.
The movie revolves around a plot by the mad scientist "Krank" played by Daniel Emilfork, who kidnaps children to steal their dreams. Among them is the little brother of carnival strongman "One" palyed by Ron Perlman, who sets out to rescue him with the help of a young, orphaned, thieves' guild member named "Miette" played by Judith Vittet. (from Wikipedia).
.
The movie manages to be both dark and beautiful at the same time. The acting is crazy good, particularly the two actresses that play the conjoined twin. Cinematography, musical score, customes, special effects and set design should have all been nominated for Oscars but sadly was ignored.
.
Strange but lovely and remarkable.
.
