has always been the one thing
that freaks me out.

I hate to see them looking at me.

Even this one
made out of scallions
is creepy to me.

I blame my mother.
She let me watch the movie
"The Deadly Mantis"
when I was a little kid.

You know the movie
where the giant praying mantis
flips over the bus
and you can clearly
see the word "Tonka" on the bottom.

It scared the ever-living Jesus out of me.
